The word “Sonata” originally means a form of music work with three movements. RED SONATA FIESTA 2010 will be kicked off with a Cultural Expo (Eternal Spring), followed by Cultural Games & Activities (Battles of the Maestros), and lastly concluded with a one-night Musical & Cultural Show (One Night in Beijing), hence bringing in the whole concept of a sonata event masterpiece.
While “Fiesta” means celebration, this event also aims to celebrate the importance of culture, thus enhance the interest among all community towards cultural and orchestral performances.

- To promote One Malaysia concept through promoting Chinese culture
- To promote UTP as a centre for cultural exchange
- To enhance interest in local and international students, staff and the public in the understanding of the local culture background
- To instill mutual respect for one another and trust in each other through understanding of each other’s culture
- To encourage interactions and unity among local and international students and staff
- To foster a conducive environment in producing well-rounded students through imposing cultural concern
RED SONATA - SUN OF SUMMER
It means that the sun is the source of life for all living things. So, the sun of summer will bring everything comes alive. And everything will be so lively, so happening and so joyful during the summer. At the same time, the heat from the sun brings warmth to us, making us feel so prosper and so comfortable. Thus, the liveliness and warmth of the sun of summer creates a conducive environment for this event to be successful. It brings us together as one, with respect to each other, furthermore we enjoy the company of each other as well.
